Got Lobster?

Since Jeremy was not able to come with us to CT we brought him back a live lobster!! On Monday before our flight we stopped at Grossman's Seafood store and picked up a 2.20 lb live Maine Lobster. The lady packaged him up for our plane ride and off we went. He made it back to Seattle alive and in one piece so Jeremy was able to have it for dinner. Rae thougth it was the strangest thing to see a lobster go from living in a cooler to being boiled alive to being eaten by her dad. Owen got a kick out of it too.

Groton Trip - Day 7-11

Thursday 4/10/08 - Today Gordon took Rae, Casey and Fischer out to Bluff Point to ride bikes out to the end of the trail to see the beach, after that he took them to Dairy Queen for ice cream. Mom, Lesley, Owen and I went shopping.

Friday 4/11/08 - Gordon took the kids to Fischers Baseball practice and mom, Lesley and I went up to Providence RI. We did some shopping and went out to dinner it was nice and relaxing. We went to the Cheese Cake Factory and had a waiter who is an up and coming actor (Chris Edwards).

Saturday and Sunday 4/12&13/08 - Pretty much the rest of the time we hung out at home and went to the park and mini mart. On Satuday night mom, Lesley and I went to the Mohegan Sun Casino and played a penny machine until 1:00 am.

Groton Trip Day 6

Thursday 4/9/08 - Today was a busy day; in the morning we went to Bluff Point State Park and walked along the trail out to the beach. We didnt quite make it to the beach, but we had fun along the way. Rae and Casey jumped off huge rocks and floated their boats in mud puddles. Mom and Casey heard a critter in the woods.

After our trip to Bluff Point we went to The Book Barn and walked around a bit. This is the coolest book store I have ever seen, if you are ever in CT you have to go there. The kids played outside and with the goats and then went shopping for books. Rae ended up picking out Free Willy and The Squeaky Door. Rae loved it there and as per usual Owen tried to rip all the books off the shelf!!

Groton Trip Day 5

Tuesday 4/8/08 - Today we decided to pick Sydney up early from school and take a short trip out to Mystic (town where Mystic Pizza was filmed). We walked around the strip for a bit then heading further into town to Mystic Seaport shopping village. We went into the shops there and had ice cream cones. Lesley bought Rae a souvenir penny passport collector and Rae got her souvenir penny. Now where ever we go Rae can get a penny and add it to her collection.

Groton Trip - Day 4

Monday 4/7/08 - Sydney and Fischer had school today so that just left us with Casey. We decided to go to Chuck E. Cheese. This was Owen's first trip there and he LOVED it. He thought the ride on toys were awesome and Bob the Builder was his favorite. He also loved the idea of the tokens, he carried around a token the whole time and would go to put it in the machine but then take it out, it was pretty cute. After our trip to Chuck E. Cheese we went home and played at the park and took yet another trip to the mini-mart.

Groton Trip - Days 1-3

Friday April 4, 2008 I took the kids, along with my mom, to Groton, CT to visit my sister and her family. Of course our red-eye flight out of Sea-Tac was 1.5 hours late and the kids were awake the whole time, so much for the sleepy red-eye. After finally leaving Sea-Tac we made it safely to MN and had about 20 minutes left of our 2 hour layover. After running through the airport with Owen in the stroller and loading mom and Rae on the airport cart we made our flight. The kids are great travelers and slept the whole second flight. Finally we made it to Groton, CT and were hungry. We found a McDonalds (with the help of the friendly GPS) and the kids were able to eat and play for awhile. The rest of Friday was spent helping my sister get ready for her garage sale.

Saturday 4/6 - Garage sale day!! Rae was a big help and she earned $5 for her sales services. We also went to the park and mini mart. This is a recurring theme of the trip. Lesley's house is very close to the park and mini-mart.

Sunday 4/7 - Today we went shopping at an Outlet mall and to Sydney's softball practice. Gordon kept Owen with him and mom, Lesley and I were able to go out to diner by ourselves.

Groton is an old navy town with not much else there, its pretty grey since there are no leaves on the trees but it is a cute town. I wish I could see it in the Fall with all the pretty colors.
